Best Apps for Instagram Aesthetic

Want your Instagrams to be more stylish? Let us help you. Here is our list of Best Apps for Instagram Aesthetic. With these apps, you can hand-pick what you want in your feed, change settings on the fly, and experience a world of possibilities in one app.

This is a guide to help you choose which app works best for your style of photography. The App Store has thousands of apps to suit every kind of photo you want to shoot, but it can be hard to find the perfect one. This list will help you narrow down what kinds of Instagram aesthetic do you like, and will recommend which apps are the best for those specific styles.

 Filmm

Filmm was founded by Zoella and A Color Story to add effects and filters to videos. It allows you to add authentic film textures, light effects and VHS distortions to any video clip. You can also browse through the music options to add a track to your clip.

The effects are varied and they are continuously bringing out more. You can add light leaks, dust, grain and other film-like effects to your videos. The selection of over filters has been developed with aesthetics in mind.

You can edit the dimensions to various social media platforms, including Instagram Stories, which is its most common use. It even includes a story splitter that splits your video into 15-second clips as required by Instagram Stories.

The app itself is incredibly easy to use. It has been designed so that anybody could use it without having thorough knowledge or experience in video editing. It also allows you to add elements on top of each other – adding a filter and then inserting an effect on top. If you’d like to create some aesthetic Instagram videos, this is the app for you.

Price: Free to download, and it comes with 100+ filters and effects. You can also purchase other advanced Filmm packs with more filters and effects, or subscribe to get everything for one price.

Availability: Currently only available on iOS.

 Prequel

Prequel is a video and photo editor which allows you to create aesthetic Instagram Stories with a high-quality finish. It allows you to add filters and effects, much like the Filmm app, but the effects and filters are completely different in style and colour schemes.

In this app, you can trim videos and quickly adjust video speed for short videos. It also includes a built-in camera app equipped with advanced tools you can use while taking pictures or videos.

The effects include glitch effects, origami, mirror, topical, instant camera, VHS and so much more. You can even add rose petals flying across the screen if you really want to. The options are fantastic.

The filters and effects aren’t separate on this app, like they are for Filmm. This means you cannot easily layer them on top of each other. The effects are a lot crazier too, rather than subtle, so it depends what kind of vibe you want to go with.

Price: Free to download. You can also subscribe to get unlimited access to all of Prequel’s features and tools.

Availability: Currently only available on iOS.

Canva

Thanks to its library of customizable templates, Canva has become one of our favorite tools for designing unique and eye-catching Instagram Stories! Whether posting a casual shot or trying to drive traffic to a website, you can use the Instagram Stories templates in Canva to create eye-catching designs using your brand’s colors and fonts.

Of course, you can use Canva to enhance regular Instagram posts with the ability to edit photos and easily overlay them with text, graphics, and other design elements—including your brand’s fonts and logo—to create content that truly resonates with followers.

VSCO

VSCO is consistently ranked by photographers as one of the best Instagram photo editing apps on the market—mainly because of its high-quality filters. The app is actually so popular that its branded hashtag #vscocam is now one of the most-used hashtags on all of Instagram!

VSCO filters are particularly good for outdoor and nature photography, as they have a mix of moody and bright tones that can help balance out scenes to match your overall Instagram aesthetic. This is great if you’re going for a consistent look on your feed.

 Later

One of the hardest parts of making your Instagram feed look amazing is figuring out how to make all your individual photos look good beside each other. Thankfully, Later’s visual Instagram planner shows you exactly what your feed would look like before photos are posted.

All you have to do is drag and drop your photos onto the Visual Instagram Planner and rearrange them until you find the perfect balance for your feed. Once you’re happy with how everything looks, posts are scheduled, so you won’t have to worry about it later on.

 A Color Story

A Color Story allows users to achieve a consistent look across individual posts. Let’s say that your brand color is millennial pink, for example. You can download specific filter packs that perfectly suit that color palette or customize your own filters to add a cast of millennial pink to any photo you’d like!

A Color Story

Another great thing about A Color Story is that it partners with a ton of Instagram influencers who create custom filter packs and effects, which can be accessed in the mobile app. You can also use the desktop version of A Color Story in collaboration with Photoshop or Lightroom for even more fine-tuned editing.

Lightroom

Lightroom is the primary way in which I edit my photos, and I’d recommend any Adobe app to practise editing. There’s so much to learn (sadly though, for a price)! When I first began posting, I found apps like Lightroom to be extremely intimidating – the kind of tools only professionals use. But there’s really not a lot to be scared of, especially once you watch a few tutorials and get to know the ins and outs of the app. It’s almost like second nature now. For my photos, I use a preset I made myself, using a YouTube tutorial. Prior to Lightroom, I had no knowledge of presets but now I’m pretty comfortable using them. Adobe Photoshop Lightroom’s own tutorial is the best place to begin. There’s was a lot of trial and errors before I finally figured out the right technique. And now I’m happy with how my photos come out. I’d love to do a post on how I edit, so if you’re interested – let me know!
