Salesforce marketing clouds allows for the quick and simple integration of salesforce to mailchimp. Both are industry leaders in the ecommerce and data collection market, providing powerful and revolutionary platforms for their users. These platforms are only going to improve as time goes on, allowing more seamless integration into other applications and services. As of now, you can integrate Salesforce with MailChimp using only the data available in Salesforce. MailChimp provides a schema that describes the required fields and their data types, but there is currently no way to create or modify records on either side of this integration (except creating tags and segments which are not supported by SFDC). The fields you can use to import and export data are the many standard Salesforce field types, including Lookup (LKP), Picklist (P), Number / Currency, Text, Excel Sheet (XLS), Date, Boolean (BOOL) and more. The Salesforce Marketing cloud allows you to create a marketing automation workflow that can be triggered by email and campaign activities. The workflow can collect records from Salesforce, or your other favorite marketing tools, and pass data on to a third party app or campaign monitor. You can even schedule social posts from the records. All of this creates a comprehensive solution to nurture your leads through every stage of your funnel.
The integration is easy to set up, and you can be up and running in just a matter of minutes. Ultimately this will save you time and resources, while also helping to strengthen your relationship with your customers. With that said, let’s walk through the steps you need to take in order to have a successful integration.
