I’ve been there, and like many others, fought my fair share of uphill battles to find the best platforms for email marketing online. Luckily, during my years in digital marketing, I’ve learned about some great platforms that I’d love to share with you today. If you haven’t already, you’ll probably start your email marketing journey with a free email marketing platform. This can be a great place to start, especially if you’re a small company. The most popular free platforms are MailChimp, Sendinblue, and AWeber. I’ve used each of them and they all have their up-selling opportunities.

When it comes to email marketing, you want to make sure you’re using the right platform. There are a lot of options out there, but many of them are expensive or have limitations that can hurt your business.
Campaign Monitor – Another great option if you’re looking for something with a little more power, but still not overly expensive.
Constant Contact – This one is easy to use and has some great features if you need something more than just basics.

- Set up an email account. This is the first step to sending emails, and it’s not hard at all. You can use Gmail or Outlook, but we recommend using something dedicated to your business because it will come in handy for other things down the line.
- Install a program that lets you create email templates. There are a lot of options out there, but one of our favorites is [product name]. It’s super intuitive and easy to use, and it’ll help you get your emails looking just right every time.
- Create an autoresponder series for your first email campaign, including welcome messages and introductory content for new subscribers who haven’t heard from you yet (this should be about 10-15 emails). The autoresponder will allow you to send out these messages automatically without having to do anything!
Design a template
- First, start by downloading a template. A template is a pre-written email that you can use as a guide for your own email marketing campaigns. You can get a free template from the email marketing company MailChimp, or from your favorite website builder like Wix or Squarespace.
- Open the template in your preferred text editor (for example, Microsoft Word) and fill out the form fields with your company name, contact information, and any other relevant details. Don’t forget to include links to your website or social media pages! You’ll also want to fill out the body of your email with content about your product or service that will be of interest to your audience (for example: “How To Take Care Of Your Dog”). This can be anything from an article that you’ve written yourself to a video tutorial hosted on YouTube or Vimeo.
- Once everything looks good, save it as an HTML file so that MailChimp knows how to handle it correctly when sending it out later on down the line!
Know your audience
You can’t just blast out a bunch of emails and hope for the best. You need to know who you’re sending to, so you can tailor your content accordingly. If you’re selling dog food, then your email should mention dogs and how great they are! If you’re selling to people who like cats, maybe an image of a cat with an encouraging caption would be more effective than one with a dog.
Make sure all the links are working
If there is a link in your email and it doesn’t work, then it looks unprofessional and it will not encourage people to click through on other links in future emails. It’s also important that all links lead to the correct place – if there are any mistakes or broken links when they click on one of yours then they may get frustrated and give up before going through any more of them! The last thing you want is for them to stop reading and unsubscribe from future emails because of this – so make sure everything is working properly before sending it out!
